Cornel Bruhin has more than 37 years’ experience in emerging market investments, where he follows a fundamental and offensive deep-credit approach. As one of the pioneers in emerging market corporate debt, Cornel Bruhin has been involved in this segment as a Portfolio Manager since shortly after the millennium and has remained true to his style ever since. Cornel Bruhin initially joined MainFirst as a Portfolio Manager in 2012 and was responsible for setting up and driving MainFirst’s current emerging markets strategies. Now after a two-year sabbatical, he is once again a core member of the team responsible for the MainFirst Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund Balanced. Prior to joining MainFirst, Cornel Bruhin was responsible for the management of the Clariden Leu Emerging Markets Bond Funds and segregated mandates from late 2008 onwards. He also held positions at Bank Hofmann, where he was the Fund Manager for the European High Rent Fund (it was consistently ranked in the first quartile and was rated with 5 Stars from Morningstar), and at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was the Sales Director for Emerging Markets Fixed Income.
