PRINCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBLE INVESTMENT (PRI)
MainFirst is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) supported by the United Nations. The principles were developed by the UNEP Finance Initiative (Geneva) and the UN Global Compact (New York) hand-in-hand with an international expert group of institutional investors.
Further, MainFirst supports the non-profit organization CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), which operates the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impact. The global business community considers CDP the gold standard of environmental reporting, with the richest and most comprehensive data set on corporate and city actions.
The aim: to ensure that environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are taken into account during the investment process, i.e. to select investments that give due consideration to the environment, pursue social objectives and strive for exemplary corporate governance.
A logical consequence of this approach is also transparency regarding investment activities in order to embed the defined principles in the industry and, in doing so, strengthen economies, financial markets and signatories in the long term. We, the portfolio managers of MainFirst Asset Management, are committed to these values and use them to guide us in our day-to-day work.
six principles
Without a corporate vision, even the most masterful structures are merely frameworks lacking in substance. This is why our experienced teams consist exclusively of strong personalities: entrepreneurial thinkers with a high degree of integrity, driven to consistently deliver outstanding returns and services.
Because our success can only be measured by the success of our clients. We build and maintain our extraordinary company by remaining true to our core principles. Extraordinary because of the exceptional value we offer our clients, and because of the passionate work environment we create.
We incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
We are active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
We seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
We promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
We work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
We each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles.
